☼ Definition :– Classes in which words are categorized (according to their function in a sentence) are called parts of speech.

2.	Pronoun	It is used instead of a noun.					She is a teacher. (she – pronoun)
3.	Adjective	It adds extra meaning to a noun.					she is a clever girl. (clever – Adjective)
4.	Verb	It indicates an action. It is an action word.					Write, Think, Come.
5.	Adverb	It adds extra meaning to	$\left. \right\}$		A verb An adjective An adverb		She sings slowly. (verb) slowly (adverb). The house is very (Adverb) big (Adjective). she walks very (Adverb) slowly (adverb).
6.	Preposition	It is placed before a noun or a pronoun with the indication of time, place, etc.					Come before (Preposition) 6 o’clock (time). The cat is on (preposition) the table. (place)
7.	Conjunction	It connects two		$\left. \right\}$		Words. Sentences.	Ramesh and Mohan go to school. (word) Ramesh goes to market and he meets meena. (sentences)
8.	Interjection	It expresses		$\left. \right\}$		Sudden feelings. Surprise.	Alas! The man is dead. Hurrah! We won the match.
