■ Rule : In the given decimal numerals, make same number of decimal places by annexing zeros if needed. Considering these numbers without decimal places, find H.C.F. or L.C.M. as the case may be. Now, in the result, mark off as many decimal places as are there in each of the given numbers.
e.g. Find the H.C.F. and L.C.M. of 1.75, 5.6 and 7.
Solution. We may write the given numbers 1.75, 5.6 & 7 as : 175, 560 & 700
( Multiplying them by 100 )
H.C.F. of 175, 560 and 700 is 35.
H.C.F. of 1.75, 5.60 & 7.00 is .35. ( Dividing them by 100 )
L.C.M. of 175, 560 and 700 is 2800.
L.C.M. of 1.75, 5.60 & 7.00 is 28.00, i.e., 28. ( Dividing them by 100 )
OR
