☼ Trade Discount ( or Discount ) : The reduction made on the marked price of an article is called as Trade Discount.
If discount is given, then selling price is different than marked price. It is also called as Net Price. Also, Selling Price = Marked Price – Discount or S.P. = M.P. – D.
If discount is not given, Selling price is same as Marked price.
If two successive discounts x % and y % are given on an article, then
total discount = %
If three successive discounts x %, y % and z % are given on an article, then
total discount = %
Discount is always reckoned on M.P.
