Intercepts and Slope of the standard equation

☼ Intercepts and Slope of the standard equation :–

If AB : ax + by + c = 0 intersects X – axis and Y – axis respectively at A and B, then

(i) X – intercept = OA = – $\frac{c}{a}$

(ii) Y – intercept = OB = – $\frac{c}{b}$

(iii) Slope ( m ) = – $\frac{a}{b}$
