☼ Indirect Proportion : Two quantities are said to be indirectly proportional, if one the increase of the one, the other decreases proportionately.
e.g. (i) 10 men can do a piece of work in 6 days
∴ 15 ” ” same ” ( ? ) ”
= 4 days
(ii) 10 men can do a piece of work in 6 days
∴ 2 ” ” same ” ( ? ) ”
= 30 days
‘ One variable increases (↑) than other decreases (↓) and similarly one variable decreases (↓) than other variable increases (↑) ’ Inverse Proportion.
For Inverse Proportion, we will use the following formula :
=
; Where, M =No. of workers or machines
D = No. of days
T = Time
R = Ratio per head
E = Efficiency
W = Work or wages
