☼ Hardly / Scarcely : – If the sentence begins with Hardly / Scarcely then the conjunction will be ‘when’.
↦ Examples :–
(1) Hardly / Scarcely had I opened the door, when the dog began to bark.
(2) Hardly had I finished my work, when I switched off the light.
(3) Scarcely had the child seen the toy, when he tried to catch it.
