☼ Linear Equation in two variables : The equation of the form ax + by + c = 0
( Where, a, b, c are real numbers and a2 + b2 0 ) is called linear equation in two variables x and y.
Note : (i) a2 + b2 = 0 a = b = 0.
(ii) a2 + b2 0 Both a and b are not zero at the same time.
(iii) The graph of a linear equation ax + by + c = 0 is a straight line in co–ordinate axes.
