☼ Passive voice with Modal Auxiliaries
The verb such as can, could, may, might, should, would, must etc. are called Modal
Auxiliaries verbs.
↦ To change sentences with such verbs :–
Object + Modal Auxiliary + be + past participle + by + subject
Examples:–
1) I can repair your motor car. (active)
Your motor car can be repaired by me. (passive)
2) He could solve this puzzle. (active)
This puzzle could be solved by him. (passive)
3) Hitesh may invite me. (active)
I may be invited by Hitesh. (passive)
4) That dog might by you. (active)
You might be bitten by that dog. (passive)
5) The rich should help the poor. (active)
The poor should be helped by the rich. (passive)
6) Ramesh would not cheat you. (active)
You would not be cheated by Ramesh. (passive)
7) You must look after your parents. (active)
Your parents must be looked after by you. (passive)
8) Why should you not invite Meena ? (active)
Why should Meena not be invited by you ? (passive)
