☼ Sentence :– A group of orderly arranged words with complete sense.

Declarative | A sentence that makes a statement is called a declarative sentence. | I am making tea. |
Interrogative | A sentence that makes a question is called an interrogative sentence. | What is your father ? |
Imperative | A sentence that expresses a command or a request is called an Imperative sentence. | Open your book. |
Exclamatory | A sentence that expresses a sudden feeling is called an Exclamatory sentence. | What a beautiful flower the rose is ! |
Simple | A sentence that has one main clause is called a Simple sentence. | In spite of his poverty, he helps poor people. |
Compound | A sentence that has two or more main clauses is called a Compound sentence. | She is eighty, but she is active. |
Complex | A sentence that has one main clause and one or more subordinate clauses is called a Complex sentence. | Though he is poor, he helps others. |
Negative | A sentence that makes a sense of negation is called Negative sentence. | He is not going to market. |

- In the example of simple sentence, ‘he helps poor people’ is a main clause.
- In the example of compound sentence, ‘She is eighty but she is active’ are two main clauses.
- In the example of complex sentence, ‘he helps other’ is a main clause and ‘though he is poor’ is a subordinate clause.
